Welcome to The Changed Physician podcast
where you can learn the mindsets, skills, & strategies
to create the life you want
without selling out your morals or values.
As an online “physicianpreneur,” Dr. Kevin Cuccaro produced his first podcast (Straight Shot Health Talk) in 2013, and his first web-based course in 2014. His particular interest lies in the application of science, education, marketing, and technology to answer the question of, “How can we disrupt traditional healthcare care models to deliver transformative care?”
As a physician, Dr. Cuccaro is a fellowship-trained specialist and expert on the science of pain and stress. He attended The Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, performed his residency in anesthesiology at The University of Chicago, completed his fellowship in Pain Medicine at the University of Michigan, and served as associate program director of the Naval Medical Center San Diego’s Pain Medicine Fellowship program. His unique ability is deconstructing complex pain science to make it understandable, useful, and actionable for clinicians and patients.
Dr. Cuccaro was a 2016-17 Oregon Health Authority Clinical Innovations Fellow and served on the Oregon Health Authority Health Evidence Review Commission (HERC) and the HERC Chronic Pain Task Force. He continues to apply his unique skillset to health-related endeavors through State and Regional commissions/task forces working to improve pain, opioid, and trauma care services.

Known as The Challenge Doctor, Dr. Cady chose not to join the typical pain practice out of conviction that there is a better way to address pain’s root cause with better education being a critical component. Her first public effort is reflected in her recent book/audiobook release, PAINDEMIC. She has continued to foster her entrepreneurial spirit by creating value and education for communities she has developed online but also offline as it relates to fitness, medicine, pain, and wellness.
With respect to clinical work, Dr. Cady works part-time as an independent, general anesthesiologist and occasionally does pain consultations solely via telemedicine.
Dr. Cady obtained her medical degree from the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine (University of North Texas Health Science Center) in Fort Worth, Texas. Her internship training included a year in general surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and a year in internal medicine at Scott & White hospital in Temple, Texas. She trained in anesthesiology and completed her fellowship in Pain Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
